The thirty-second problem
Marvel Rivals has team-up abilities: certain hero combinations unlock extra powers, and one specific hero in the pair has to equip it. The information matters at exactly one moment — hero select — and that is the one moment the game will not show it to you.
So you alt-tab to a wiki, scroll a long table, and come back to find your draft locked.
What it does instead
Tap the heroes your teammates picked. The panel immediately shows every enhanced ability that draft unlocks and who has to equip each one. Mark your mains and it filters down to only the ones that are any use to you. Star the ones you actually play around and they pin to the top.
Both of those preferences save to localStorage, so it remembers you without
an account, a login, or anything leaving the machine.
Why it is one file
The entire season 9 dataset is embedded in the page. No fetch, no API, no build step. It opens instantly, works with no connection, and can be dropped onto any host or opened straight off disk.
The cost is that a new season means editing the data by hand. For a tool with one user and a four-month season, that is a trade worth making — and it is the same instinct behind the Bodrum site. Something with no moving parts cannot break while you are not looking at it.
What it is not
It is not a database, it is not maintained against patches automatically, and it would need real work to become either. It solves one annoyance completely and nothing else at all, which is why it took an afternoon rather than a month.
Refinements
How it changed
Every pass, dated, oldest first — nothing trimmed and nothing tidied out. The version that got rejected is usually more informative than the one that shipped.

- Note
Reconstructed from the file, not from a record
Unlike the other projects here, this one has no commit history — it was built in a single sitting and saved as one file. The entries below are read back off the finished artefact rather than off a log, so the order within the day is my best reconstruction and not a record. Saying so is cheaper than pretending otherwise.
- Started
Built for one annoyance, in one sitting
Hero select in Marvel Rivals gives you about thirty seconds and no way to check which team-up abilities your draft unlocks. I was alt-tabbing to a wiki every game and coming back to a locked draft. One static page with the season 9 data embedded in it removes the problem entirely.
Functionality - Changed
Grouped by role, because that is how the draft happens
The picker lists heroes under Vanguard, Duelist and Strategist rather than alphabetically. You are not looking up a name you already know — you are watching teammates lock in, and they lock in by role.
Ease of use - Changed
Mains, so the list is about you
A flat list of every team-up in the game is barely faster than the wiki. Marking your mains filters the results to the ones you can personally use, and marks them with a star everywhere else they appear.
Quality of life - Changed
Favourites on top of mains
Mains are who you play; favourites are the handful of team-ups you actually build around. Two separate lists, with their own filters — "Mains only" and "Favs only" — because collapsing them into one would have made both less useful.
Quality of life - Changed
A search box as well as the grid
Thirty-odd heroes in a role grid is fast to scan but slow to find a specific name in. Typing filters it. Both paths exist because which one is quicker depends on whether you already know who you are looking for.
Ease of use - Changed
Saved locally, with no account
Mains and favourites persist to localStorage between games. An account for a lookup table would be absurd, and anything that needs a login before it answers a thirty-second question has already failed.
Quality of life - Changed
Say who equips it, not just what unlocks
Knowing an ability exists is useless mid-draft if you do not know which of the two heroes has to slot it. Every result names the hero who equips it and the one who grants it, because getting that backwards wastes the pick.
Functionality - Changed
A running list of who has been picked, with one-click clear
The selections summary shows the current draft and clears in one click, so the next game starts from empty without a reload. Ten seconds saved per match is the entire value proposition of this page.
Quality of life - Note
Embedded data, and the trade that comes with it
The season 9 dataset is in the file. No fetch, no API, no build step — it opens instantly, works offline, and can be dropped on any host or opened off disk. The cost is that a new season means editing the file by hand. For a tool with one user and a four-month season, that is the right trade, and it is the same instinct behind the Bodrum site.
Functionality - Shipped
Sourced and dated in the page itself
The notes at the bottom record where the data came from and when it was checked. A lookup table with no date on it is actively dangerous after a patch — you cannot tell whether it is wrong or you are.

A look around
Look around — 3 screens

The hero picker. Tap whoever your teammates locked in.
Tap three teammates and the red panel answers it — every ability unlocked, and which hero has to equip each one.
Below that, the full season 9 reference, filterable down to just your mains.
